To amend the John F. Kennedy Center Act to authorize appropriations for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and to further define the criteria for capital repair and operation and maintenance.
John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Authorization Act of 1998 - Amends the John F. Kennedy Center Act to revise the criteria for certain duties with respect to capital repair and to operation and maintenance.
Repeals a requirement that the Comptroller General review and audit the Center's accounts at least once every three years.
Extends through 2003 the authorization of appropriations for the Center's: (1) maintenance, security, and repair; and (2) capital projects.
