Permits the adjustment of interest (currently limited to six percent per annum) paid on funds of the Smithsonian Institution which are deposited with the United States Treasury for the perpetual maintenance and support of the Smithsonian Institution. Requires investment of such funds in public debt securities with maturities bearing interest at rates which take into consideration the current average yield on outstanding marketable obligations of the United States of comparable maturities.
Makes the provisions of this Act applicable to fiscal years beginning after FY 1982.
