A bill to amend title 5, United States Code, to provide for the establishment of a Special Cost-of-Living Pay Schedule containing increased pay rates for Federal employees in heavily populated cities and metropolitan areas to offset the increased cost of living, and for other purposes.
Federal Employees' Pay Equity Act - Requires the Civil Service Commission to establish a Special Cost-of-Living Pay Schedule for Federal employees located in any city or metropolitan area having a population of 500,000 or more, such schedule to contain special rates of basic pay representing increases in comparable rates provided by the General Schedule, for the purpose of offsetting the increased cost-of-living of such employees.
