A bill to establish National Historic Trails as a new category of trails within the National Trails System, to include the Iditarod Trail, Alaska, in the National Trails System as a National Historic Trail.

Amends the National Trails System Act to establish National Historic Trails as a new category of trails within the National Trails System. Sets qualifications for designation as a National Historic Trail, including, establishment through historic use, national significance with respect to any of several broad facets of American history, and potential for public recreational use related to historic appreciation.

Designates the Iditarod Trail, Alaska, as a national historic trail within the National Trails System.
