A bill to amend the Council on Wage and Price Stability Act to extend its termination date.
Amends the Council on Wage and Price Stability Act to extend the authority of the Council on Wage and Price Stability through fiscal year 1979 and to authorize the appropriation of funds to carry out such Act for fiscal years 1978 and 1979.
Directs the Council to focus attention on the need for full employment.
Directs the Council to review information about and analyze the effects on the U.S. economy of: (1) U.S. participation in world trade; (2) the changing patterns of prices and supplies of commodities in the world market; (3) U.S. capital investment in foreign countries; (4) world-wide weather changes; (5) interest rates, capital formation; and (6) the changing patterns of world energy supplies and prices.
Stipulates that information voluntarily submitted to the Council is protected by the confidentiality procedures under the Act.
