Amends the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 to authorize the Administrator of the National Fire Prevention and Control Administration to make grants to volunteer fire departments to enable them to purchase firefighting equipment which they cannot afford due to post-1972 inflation. Mandates preference for departments serving population areas of less than 10,000.
Specifies that the amount of a grant shall be the amount which represents the increase in price of such equipment since 1972 as a result of inflation.
