A bill to provide for the participation of the United States in the Financial Support Fund.
Financial Support Fund Act - Authorizes the President to accept membership for the United States in the new international financial organization provided for by the Agreement Establishing a Financial Support Fund of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Authorizes the Secretary of the Treasury to issue guarantees backed by the full faith and credit of the United States, for the purpose of carrying out the financial obligations of the United States under the terms of the Agreement, up to a specified amount.
Set forth conditions which shall be satisfied before the Secretary votes (on the Governing Committee of the Fund) in favor of making a loan.
Requires the Secretary to report annually on the lending activities of the Fund and on the United States' obligations incurred and transfers made to the Fund. Requires the Secretary to report to specified Congressional committees following a decision by the Fund to make a loan and following payment on a guarantee issued pursuant to this Act.
