A bill to amend the Consumer Product Safety Act to clarify the authority of the Consumer Product Safety Commission to regulate the safety of mobile homes.
Mobile Home Safety Act - Includes mobile homes and recreational vehicles within the class of consumer products whose safety and design are to be regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
States that prior to promulgating a consumer product safety rule applicable to a mobile home or a recreational vehicle, the Commissioner shall seek the views of the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and of Transportation with respect to the adequacy of the proposed rule and its probable effect on programs administered by them.
Authorizes annual appropriations of $2,000,000 for fiscal years 1974-75 to carry out the provisions of this Act. (Amends P. L. 92-573)
