To amend the Public Health Service Act to authorize grants for graduate medical education partnerships in States with a low ratio of medical residents relative to the general population.
Creating Access to Residency Education Act of 2022
This bill requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to award matching funds to teaching hospitals or other graduate medical education training programs for medical residency training programs in states where there are fewer than 44 medical residents per 100,000 people.
Recipients must cover one third of the costs for primary care residency training programs and one half of the costs for programs in other fields.
