To amend title II of the Social Security Act to provide a midyear cost-of-living increase to account for an insufficient increase for 2017, to apply the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly (CPI-E) to future Social Security COLAs, and for other purposes.
Fair COLA for Seniors Act of 2017
This bill amends title II (Old Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance) (OASDI) of the Social Security Act to, with respect to OASDI benefits: (1) apply a 3.9% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for the second half of 2017, and (2) revise the computation of COLAs to use the Consumer Price Index for Elderly Consumers.
