To promote Internet safety education and cybercrime prevention initiatives, and for other purposes.
Adolescent Web Awareness Requires Education Act or the AWARE Act - Directs the Attorney General to award grants to local educational agencies (LEAs), partnerships between states and LEAs, nonprofit organizations, or consortia of elementary and secondary schools that collaborate with such entities to carry out an age-appropriate, research-based Internet safety education program that encourages safe and responsible Internet use.
Requires such program to educate children, parents, and communities about how to prevent or respond to problems or dangers related to the Internet or new media.
Directs the Attorney General to: (1) enter into contracts with one or more private companies, government agencies, or nonprofit organizations to complete a study on Internet safety; and (2) provide technical assistance to grant recipients.
