Justice for Atomic Veterans Act of 2001

Justice for Atomic Veterans Act of 2001 - Includes in the list of diseases presumed to be service-connected, in the case of radiation-exposed veterans, and therefore compensable for purposes of veterans' disability compensation and medical care, the following: lung, bone, skin, colon, ovarian, and rectal cancer; posterior subcapsular cataracts; non-malignant thyroid nodular disease; parathyroid adenoma; and tumors of the brain and central nervous system.

Includes as a radiation-risk activity for purposes of such compensation: (1) service at Amchitka Island, Alaska, involving duty related to certain underground nuclear testing between October 23, 1965, and December 31, 1973; and (2) service at such other locations that the Secretary of Veterans Affairs determines to be service comparable as a radiation-risk activity.
