To amend the Public Health Service Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to prevent group and individual health insurance coverage and group health plans from seeking to recover more than costs in cases of third party recoveries.
Amends the PHSA to apply the preceding prohibition to health insurance coverage offered by an issuer in the individual market in the same manner as it is applied to group health plan coverage in the group market.
Provides for coordination between the Secretaries of Labor, Treasury, and Health and Human Services with respect to administration of this Act.
