To establish a research and demonstration program to promote cofiring of natural gas and coal in certain boilers.
Cofiring Promotion Act of 1992 - Directs the Secretary of Energy to: (1) implement a program of research and demonstration of cofiring (of natural gas and coal) in utility and large industrial boilers in order to determine optimal natural gas injection levels for environmental and operational benefits; and (2) provide financial assistance for half the costs of such cofiring technology projects.
Requires the Secretary to provide a status report to the Congress by a specified deadline.
Authorizes appropriations.
