To provide for an increase in the number of United States and Foreign Commercial Services Officers in certain countries for the purpose of promoting United States exports to those countries, and for other purposes.
Trade Promotion Expansion Act of 1992 - Authorizes appropriations for the placement of 20 additional United States and Foreign Commercial Service Officers in: (1) countries with which the United States has the largest trade deficit; and (2) newly emerging market economy countries, with democratically elected governments, in Central and Eastern Europe and elsewhere.
Requires the Secretary of Commerce (Secretary) to report to specified congressional committees on the effectiveness of such additional Commercial Service Officers in increasing U.S. exports to such countries. Requires the Secretary to study and report to specified congressional committees on the effectiveness of the district in coordinating its export promotion programs with the export promotion programs of the States in which such offices are located.
