A bill to redesignate the National Institute on Aging as the National Institute on Aging and Alzheimer's Disease, to require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to coordinate and support research concerning Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, and for other purposes.
Alzheimer's Disease Research Coordination Act of 1985 - Redesignates the National Institute on Aging as the National Institute on Aging and Alzheimer's Disease. Amends the Public Health Service Act to direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to coordinate, support, and encourage research into Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
Directs the Secretary to: (1) insure that each specialized research center for Alzheimer's disease expends a portion of its budget on multidisciplinary research; and (2) report annually to the Congress.
