A bill to require the President to initiate negotiations with Mexico for the purpose of entering a Free Trade Area agreement.
United States-Mexico Free Trade Promotion Act - Requires the President to direct the U.S. Trade Representative to initiate negotiations with Mexico to establish a free trade area between the United States and Mexico and to provide for the elimination or reduction of duties imposed by the United States. Provides that certain restrictions on tariff reduction agreements shall not apply to any such agreement entered into with Mexico. Sets forth certain benefits to be taken into account in negotiating such agreement.
