A bill to provide financial assistance to States to enable them to establish or expand teacher education programs, and for other purposes.
Master Teacher Education Assistance Act of 1985 - Authorizes the Secretary of Education to make grants to States to pay the Federal share of the costs of establishing and operating master teacher education programs for elementary and secondary school teachers. Authorizes appropriations for FY 1986 through 1989 for such purpose.
Sets forth provisions for program fund allotments to States.
Permits grants under this Act to be used for master teacher education programs which meet specified criteria.
Sets forth State application requirements.
Limits the Federal share to 75 percent of the cost of such programs.
