An original bill to amend title 38, United States Code, to increase the rates of disabiltiy compensation for disabled veterans and the rates of dependency and indemnity compensation for surviving spouses and children of veterans, to improve veterans' education benefits, and to improve the Veterans' Administration home loan guaranty program; to amend titles 10 and 38, United States Code, to improve national cemetery programs; and for other purposes.
Amends Federal veterans' benefits provisions to set at July 1, 1985, the final date at which a person must have entered the armed forces in order to be eligible for special educational assistance for post-Vietnam era veterans.
Repeals a specified provision of the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Education Act to conform with changes made under this Act.
