A bill to amend the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 to permit the provision of flood insurance for properties constructed in unintentional violation of State and local land use requirements, and for other purposes.
National Flood Insurance Improvements Act of 1985 - Amends the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 to permit the provision of flood insurance coverage for properties constructed: (1) in unintentional violation of State or local land use requirements; (2) without the knowledge or consent of the current owner, in violation of such requirements; or (3) in violation of such requirements but constructed as not to impair the integrity of the foundation of the property.
Requires notice of any violation of State or local law, regulation, or ordinance to be placed upon the appropriate official land records.
