A bill to extend for 45 days the application of tobacco and superfund excise taxes, trade adjustment assistance, certain medicare reimbursement provisions, and borrowing authority under the railroad unemployment insurance program.
Emergency Extension Act of 1985 - Amends the Internal Revenue Code to extend for 45 days (to November 15, 1985) the increase in the excise tax on cigarettes and the environmental excise taxes (Superfund). Amends the Trade Act of 1974 to extend for 45 days the trade adjustment assistance programs. Amends the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act to extend for 45 days the borrowing authority under this Act. Extends for 45 days the existing Medicare hospital and physician payment provisions.
