A bill to amend the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to exempt employees of public agencies who are engaged in fire protection or law enforcement activities from the overtime requirements of that Act, and for other purposes.

Amends the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to exempt from overtime coverage under such Act public employees engaged in fire protection or law enforcement activities.

Provides that no public agency shall be liable under penalty provisions of such Act for violations of minimum wage or overtime requirements occurring: (1) before the date of enactment of this Act, with respect to such fire protection or law enforcement employees; and (2) before January 1, 1986, with respect to any other employee.
