Amends the Safe Drinking Water Act to prohibit the use of lead pipes or solder in the installation or repair of any distribution system for drinking water. Requires State compliance with such restrictions as a condition of receiving funding for public water system supervision programs.
Requires that lead pipes or solder sold in retail establishments be labeled as federally prohibited for use in drinking water supply systems.
Requires each public water system to notify users of adverse health effects of lead exposure and the means available to mitigate such exposure.
