A bill to amend the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act to increase benefits and to increase the compensation base upon which contributions are computed, and for other purposes.
Railroad Unemployment Insurance Solvency Act of 1985 - Amends the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act to increase the maximum daily unemployment (or sickness) benefit rate from $25 to $35 (for registration periods beginning after September 30, 1985).
Increases from $600 to $1,300 the maximum employee monthly compensation upon which an employer's contribution to an employee's unemployment insurance benefits is calculated.
Amends the Internal Revenue Code, with respect to the railroad unemployment repayment tax, to redefine the wage base for rail wages for certain taxable periods.
