A bill to enable States primarily affected by the siting of repositories for high-level radioactive waste or spent nuclear fuel to participate effectively in the site selection, review, and approval process, and for other purposes.
Nuclear Waste Policy Act Amendment of 1985 - Amends the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 to confer upon the State of Oregon the same rights and opportunities to participate in the site selection, review, and approval process for a high-level radioactive waste or spent nuclear fuel repository proposed to be located in the Columbia River basin as does the State in which the repository is proposed to be located.
Provides that financial assistance for State participation in the site selection process for the States of Oregon and of Washington shall be paid from the Bonneville Power Administration fund.
