A bill to amend the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 to reauthorize the activities of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, and for other purposes.
Overseas Private Investment Corporation Amendments Act of 1985 - Amends the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 to extend the authority of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) through FY 1989.
Requires OPIC to consider the environmental impact of a development project in determining whether to become involved in such project. Directs OPIC to refuse to insure, reinsure, or finance any investment in connection with a project if the project will pose an unreasonable environmental, health, or safety hazard.
Directs OPIC to notify any country where an OPIC project is located of any restriction under any U.S. law relating to public health or safety, or the environment that would apply to the project if the project were located in the United States.
