A concurrent resolution condemning the state of seige imposed by the Government of Chile and expressing the support of the Congress for a peaceful transition to democracy in Chile.

Declares that the Congress: (1) condemns the attempted assassination of General Augusto Pinochet; (2) joins the Reagan administration in condemning the use by the Government of Chile of a state of seige as a means to detain political opponents, close down independent publications, and curtail individual freedoms; and (3) expresses its support for a peaceful transition to democracy in Chile.
