A bill to provide additional funding to accelerate the replacement and rehabilitation of highway bridges.
Highway Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Acceleration Act of 1984 - Declares that the purpose of this Act is to accelerate the replacement and rehabilitation of deficient bridges.
Directs the Secretary of Transportation to pay 90 percent of the costs of eligible bridge projects, and the total costs of emergency bridge projects, approved under this Act.
Authorizes the Secretary to approve for selection any deficient Federal-highway bridge project eligible for funding under the highway bridge replacement and rehabilitation program, and which costs more than $10,000,000, or at least twice the amount of the State apportionment. Sets forth factors and considerations for the prioritization of eligible projects.
Authorizes appropriations out of the Highway Trust Fund for FY 1985 through 1988.
