A bill to amend the Small Business Act to establish a Small Business Computer Crime and Security Task Force, and for other purposes.
Small Business Computer Crime Prevention Act - Amends the Small Business Act to require the Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA) to establish the Small Business Computer Crime and Security Task Force which shall: (1) define the nature and scope of computer crimes against small businesses; (2) ascertain the effectiveness of State legislation and security equipment in preventing computer crimes against small businesses; (3) develop guidelines to assist small businesses in evaluating the security of computer systems; and (4) make recommendations to the Administrator with respect to the activities of the SBA's resource center.
Directs the Task Force, within 18 months after the enactment of this Act, to submit a detailed report of its findings on computer crimes against small business to the President and the Congress. Terminates the Task Force not later than thirty days after the submission of such report.
Directs the Administrator to establish a resource center which will provide computer security information and periodic information exchange forums for small businesses.
