Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to provide coverage for services performed by a nurse-midwife.
Defines "nurse-midwife" to mean a registered nurse who: (1) has successfully completed a prescribed course of study or has been certified by a recognized organization; and (2) performs services in the area of mother and baby care throughout the maternity cycle.
