A bill to require the Comptroller General of the United States to carry out audits of expenditures and financial transactions of Members, officers, and standing committees of the House of Representatives.
Legislative Accounts Audit and Control Act - Directs the Comptroller General to carry out an audit of expenditures or financial transactions of Members, officers, and standing committees of the House of Representatives involving disbursements from the contingent fund of the House during calendar years 1979 through 1982. Requires the completion of such audit within nine months of enactment of this Act.
Directs the Comptroller General to carry out an annual audit of such expenditures beginning with calendar year 1983 and to complete such audits within three months of the close of each year.
Requires the transmittal of audit results to the Speaker of the House and makes copies of such report available for public inspection upon request and for a reasonable charge.
