A bill to authorize the establishment of a Presidential fund to provide emergency food assistance abroad, and for other purposes.
President's Emergency Food Assistance Act of 1984 - Title I: President's Emergency Fund - Establishes the President's Emergency Food Assistance Fund (the Fund). Authorizes the President to furnish assistance from the Fund to alleviate acute food shortages abroad. Authorizes the President to use in the Fund funds made available under the Agricultural Trade Development and Assistance Act of 1954 or under certain chapters of the Economic Support Fund. Authorizes appropriations.
Requires the President to submit an annual report which details all the activities funded by this Act.
Title II: Food for Peace Program - Amends the Agricultural Trade Development and Assistance Act of 1954 to authorize the Commodity Credit Corporation to pay the transportation costs from points of entry to storage and distribution sites for commodities for urgent and extraordinary relief requirements.
