A bill to amend title II of the Social Security Act to provide that cost-of-living increases in benefits under the old-age survivors and disability insurance program shall take effect three months earlier each year to provide that such increases shall be based solely on increases in the Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers and to eliminate the 3 percent trigger for such increases.
Social Security COLA Act of 1984 - Amends title II (Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance) of the Social Security Act to provide that cost-of-living adjustments under the OASDI program shall take effect three months earlier each year. Provides that cost-of-living adjustments are to be based solely on increases in the Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers. Eliminates the three percent trigger for such cost-of-living increases.
