Department of Energy Civilian Energy Programs Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1985 and 1986 - Authorizes appropriations to the Department of Energy for FY 1985 and 1986 for energy supply research and development activities with respect to the following programs: (1) nuclear fission reactors; (2) nuclear waste technology; (3) remedial actions; and (4) civilian radioactive waste.
Authorizes appropriations to the Department of Energy for FY 1985 and 1986 to carry out uranium supply and enrichment activities with respect to: (1) the gas centrifuge enrichment plant; and (2) other activities excluding research and development of atomic vapor laser isotope separation.
Authorizes appropriations to the Department of Energy for FY 1985 and 1986 for expenditures from the Nuclear Waste Fund for radioactive waste disposal activities pursuant to the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982. Specifies the amount of funds which is authorized to be used in FY 1985 and 1986 for the development of copper canisters for the containment of high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.
Authorizes appropriations to the Department of Energy for FY 1985 and 1986 for: (1) operating expenses; (2) construction and acquisition and fabrication of capital equipment not related to construction; (3) the Alaska Power Administration; (4) the Southeastern Power Administration; (5) the Southwestern Power Administration; and (6) the Western Area Power Administration.
Provides that the equipment, resources, and facility of the Department of Energy's National Uranium Resource Evaluation program (Grand Junction Area Office) shall also be used by the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management in developing the Automated Land and Mineral Records System and in identifying and classifying known geologic structures.
