A bill to approve the master plan for the United States Capitol Grounds and related areas, and for other purposes.
Capitol Grounds Master Plan Act - Approves the Master Plan for the Future Development of the United States Capitol Grounds and Related Areas.
Establishes a Capitol Interest District comprising parts of the Capitol Hill Historic District and the Urban Renewal District Southwest, District of Columbia.
Makes the Architect of the Capitol an ex officio member of the District of Columbia Commission on Fine Arts when any design review matter arises in or bears on the Capitol Interest District. Authorizes the Architect to request authority to serve as a member of the Historic Preservation Review Board when the Board considers any similar matter relating to the Capitol Interest District.
Grants the Architect jurisdiction and control over specified additional property near the Capitol Interest District, but ordinarily under the jurisdiction and control of the District of Columbia, which the Architect determines necessary to assure continuous preservation or improvement of the general historical character of private property fronting or abutting on the Capitol Grounds.
Authorizes the Architect to expend certain appropriations for FY 1984 and any subsequent fiscal year to implement the landscape design described in the Master Plan.
Authorizes the Architect, as a member of the Zoning Commission for the District of Columbia, to serve on the Board of Zoning Adjustment when the Board considers any matter arising in or bearing on the Capitol Interest District.
