A bill to establish a congressional commission to make recommendations on ways to improve the current system of formulating and implementing national security and national defense policy.
Congressional Commission on National Defense Planning Act - Establishes the Congressional Commission on National Defense Planning to review the current system of formulating defense policy, particularly examining: (1) the organization of the military staffs; (2) procedures within the Department of Defense relating to command and liaison; and (3) personnel policies. Directs the Commission to transmit to the President and Congress such interim reports as it deems appropriate.
Grants such Commission subpoena power.
Directs the Commission to submit to Congress a final report within one year after it first convenes. Terminates such Commission 30 days after its final report.
