A bill to amend title 11, United States Code, with respect to forward contracts.
Forward Contract Bankruptcy Act Amendments of 1983 - Amends title 11 (Bankruptcy) of the United States Code to define for the purposes of such title: (1) "forward contract" as a contract (other than a commodity contract) for the purchase, sale, or transfer of a commodity, or product or byproduct thereof with a maturity date more than two days after the date the contract is entered into; and (2) "forward contract merchant" as a person whose business consists in whole or in part of entering into forward contracts as or with merchants in commodities.
