A bill to amend the Inspector General Act of 1978 to establish offices of inspector general in certain departments, and for other purposes.
Inspector General Act Amendments of 1984 - Amends the Inspector General Act of 1978 to establish an Office of Inspector General in the Departments of Justice and Treasury. Transfers to each Office the functions of specified existing offices of such Departments. Conforms the Offices of Inspector General of the Departments of Energy and Health and Human Services to such Act.
Authorizes each Inspector General, in carrying out the provisions of such Act, to administer to or take from any person an oath, affirmation, or affidavit, whenever necessary to perform functions assigned by such Act.
Fixes the pay of all Inspectors General at level IV of the Executive Schedule.
