A bill to amend the Public Health Service Act to provide for research concerning Reye's syndrome, and for other purposes.
Reye's Syndrome Act of 1983 - Amends title XI (Genetic Disease, Hemophilia Programs, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) of the Public Health Service Act to direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to establish, through the National Institute of Neurological, Communicative Disorders, and Stroke, the Reye's Syndrome Coordinating Committee. Directs such Committee to: (1) make grants and enter into contracts for clinical research and treatment; and (2) establish mobile research teams.
Authorizes appropriations for FY 1984 through 1986.
Directs the Secretary to report to Congress within six months following the end of the Committee's authorization.
