Prohibits a Federal agency from fixing the maximum age limit at less than 45 years of age for original appointments to a position as a law enforcement officer whose duties primarily involve detention activities.
Increases from 55 to 65 years the age at which such an officer who is eligible for immediate retirement must be separated from the service.
