A bill to eliminate the mandatory retirement age for participants in the Foreign Service retirement and disability system.
Foreign Service Retirement Amendments of 1983 - Amends the Foreign Service Act of 1980 to eliminate the mandatory retirement age for participants in the Foreign Service retirement and disability system.
Provides that 20 years of service credit shall be allowed in the case of: (1) an individual who has not completed 20 years service but is entitled to disability retirement benefits; or (2) the beneficiary of a lump-sum credit due if the participant on whose death the credit is based had less than 20 years service.
