Establishes an Optometry Corps within the Army. Requires that original appointments in the Regular Army may be made at the grades of captain through colonel in such corps.
Establishes an Optometry Corps within the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery of the Navy. Requires that appointments to such corps shall be made at the grades of lieutenant through captain.
States that optometric functions in the Air Force shall be performed by commissioned officers who are qualified under regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the Air Force. Requires that qualified optometrists may be appointed in the grades of captain through colonel.
