A bill to permit members and former members of the uniformed services who are entitled to retired or retainer pay and who have not elected to participate in the survivor benefit plan under subchapter 11 of chapter 73 of title 10, United States Code, for a limited period, to participate in such plan, and for other purposes.

Permits any member or former member of the uniformed services who is entitled to retired or retainer pay who did not elect to participate in the Survivor Benefit Plan, to make such election within 270 days after the effective date of this Act. Sets forth prerequisite terms and conditions before such participation becomes effective.
