A bill to establish the National Park Visitor Facilities Fund, and for other purposes.
National Park System Visitor Facilities Fund Act - Establishes in the Treasury the National Park System Visitor Facilities Fund, which shall consist of all National Park System concession fees. Authorizes amounts credited to the Fund to be appropriated, beginning in FY 1984, to the National Park Service, and to be made available to the National Park Foundation to carry out its functions under this Act.
Requires the Director of the National Park Service, with the concurrence of the Secretary of the Interior, to recommend to the Executive Committee of the Foundation construction and improvement projects for national park visitor facilities. Requires the Executive Committee to recommend projects, with the Director's concurrence, to the Board of the Foundation for its approval. Directs the Secretary to make grants to carry out projects approved by the Board. Makes the Foundation responsible for carrying out approved projects under this Act. Requires the Foundation to include its activities under this Act in its annual report to Congress.
Provides for the expiration of the authorities contained in this Act on September 30, 1989. Requires that any amount in the fund which has not been appropriated or obligated be transferred to the Treasury after that date.
