A bill to amend title 18 of the United States Code to strengthen the laws against the counterfeiting of trademarks, and for other purposes.
Trademark Counterfeiting Act of 1982 - Amends the Federal criminal code to establish penalties of up to five years' imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine for trafficking or attempting to traffic in counterfeit marks in the foreign or domestic commerce of the United States.
Permits any injured owner of a mark registered on the principal register of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to sue for treble damages in Federal district court.
