A bill entitled "The Police Officers' Protection Act of 1982."
Police Officers' Protection Act of 1982 - Makes it unlawful to import, manufacture, or deal in "restricted handgun ammunition" except as authorized by the Attorney General. Makes it unlawful for any person to deliver such ammunition in interstate commerce or to possess such ammunition which is moving in interstate commerce. Prohibits certain categories of persons, such as fugitives and drug users, from receiving restricted handgun ammunition.
Establishes additional criminal penalties, including a mandatory minimum sentence of one year imprisonment, for: (1) using restricted handgun ammunition to commit a Federal felony; or (2) carrying such ammunition during commission of a Federal felony.
