Designates the following lands in California as wilderness: (1) the Yosemite Wilderness in the Yosemite National Park; and (2) the Sequoia-Kings Canyon Wilderness in the Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park.
Adds the following lands to the National Park System: (1) the North Mountain Addition in the Stanislaus National Forest (to be incorporated in Yosemite National Park); (2) the Mt. Raymond Addition in the Sierra National Forest (to be incorporated in Yosemite National Park); and (3) the Jennie Lakes Additions in the Sequoia National Forest (to be incorporated in the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks).
Directs the Secretary to study the lands added to the National Park System by this Act for possible designation as National Park Wilderness and report to Congress concerning their suitability as wilderness not later than three years after the effective date of this Act.
Designates as wilderness any lands which represent potential wilderness additions upon which all uses prohibited by the Wilderness Act have ceased.
