A bill to provide for the relief of local prosecutors and sheriffs.
Local Prosecutors and Sheriff's Relief Act of 1982 - Authorizes the Attorney General, in his sole discretion, to make grants to assist State and local governments to meet the expenses of prosecuting defendants, maintaining courtroom security, or maintaining defendants in custody when a Federal interest is served by the prosecution of such defendants.
Allows the Attorney General to authorize rules to carry out this Act.
Authorizes appropriations for FY 1982 through 1984.
