A bill to establish a program of presidential teaching and research fellowships in mathematics and science and a presidential precollege science and mathematics in-service teaching program, and for other purposes.
National Science and Technology Revitalization Act of 1982 - Establishes a program of five-year presidential teaching and research fellowships to be awarded to untenured university faculty in mathematics, engineering, and the physical and biological sciences. Directs the National Science Foundation to select the fellows and administer the program.
Establishes a presidential precollege science and mathematics inservice teaching program to assist States in improving the skills of secondary school science and mathematics teachers. Directs the Intergovernmental Science, Engineering, and Technology Panel of the Office of Science and Technology Policy to coordinate this program and develop a plan and guidelines. Directs the National Science Foundation to administer this program as well.
Authorizes appropriations for FY 1983-1987 for the fellowships program and for FY 1983-1986 for the inservice teaching program.
