Amends title II (Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance) of the Social Security Act to permit an individual receiving disability insurance benefits to contest a determination that he or she is no longer under a disability without having to wait for formal notice of the actual termination of such benefits. Entitles such an individual to a hearing with respect to such determination without the necessity of first obtaining reconsideration of the determination.
Amends titles II and XVI (Supplemental Security Income) of the Social Security Act to extend the period during which disability insurance benefits remain payable after a disability ceases.
